Hyperterminal is used to do communiions through TCP/IP networks, Dial-Up modems ,
COM ports by using commands called "AT commands".
'AT commands' can be written ( or tested) in this terminal.
'AT commands' can be used for various purposes like sending and receiving SMS , making a call , sending USSD requests etc through a COM port.

You can use 'at commands' to send SMS through a phone or through a usb GSM/GPRS modem connected to your computer.
When you are familiar with 'at commands' , you can crte a program to send and receive SMS using vb.net , c# etc.
(AT is the abbreviation of ATtention)
Hyperterminal can also be used to send large files from a computer to another computer using a port without setting up the other computer on a network.
